So I had this beautiful olive chest of drawers at The Market. It has been there a little while and we usually move things fairly quickly so I guess people were having issues with the bottom wonky drawer. Don't know why - if you slammed it just so - it went in fine. Whatever. So I decided to take out the drawer (trust me, I will use that drawer face for something!) and put in a shelf. I think it looks great and it really makes sense. YOu can store house shoes, your blankey, sweaters, books and well anything else that goes on shelves... Here it is. Wonder if it made it through the weekend with it's new updated and functional look?! Before....
After....

New Pieces to The Market!
to Market, to Market !!
Went to Llano today and delivered some new furniture! That is always a good time but I really had fun working on this little side table! It was in pretty sad shape when I bought it at GW. It was painted some strange neutral color (maybe that was just dirty house ick) and then covered with a prolific ivy pattern. The ONLY reason I was drawn to it at all was the picture frame top. I had been wanting to do a piece using resin and this seemed perfect! And it was!! So a little lilac paint and some vintage postcards and resin to fill the top. It is sooooo cute and my sis thought it had glass on the top! Ha! So much more durable than that. I think it turned out great and has a sweet romantic side, sides. Like me! :0) Enjoy~

still working on it
but look at my great new background from www.graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/. more to do but LOVE this red and neutral linen! I need to figure out how to link to her blog. hmmmmm
While I'm on a roll...
I finished these pieces over the Christmas break. I think that they would be great for a special piece in a room or entry and also terrific on a covered porch. This giant and heavy chair has been in the workroom for months and it is a pain to move and too big to stack on any other furniture, so it really needed to go to Llano. The table is such a pretty shape and great size, 26" dia. Here ya go!
Weathering
Well, I tried it and I have to say - it's not my cup of tea. I have this cute little secretary that I think will be a great server or small desk and I thought that the weathered finish would be fun to try. I painted the chest red, then added some green and them some mustard. The next day, I applied the weathering medium and it took FOREVER to dry. Then a top coat of blue. Once it dried I really didn't see the kind of texture that I was hoping for. So I took out my trusty sander and knocked the blue back a little, then a little more, maybe just a touch more and finally, I think I have the look I wanted! So, for me, the weathering medium was a wasted step. Love to hear if anyone has had any luck with it.
Work room doesn't do it justice, it really is cute. I use a secretary in the dining room for a server. I like that I can pull the desk out to serve and not have to have it sticking out in the room all of the time.

Great Chevron pattern side table!
I wanted to make this cute little table pop with a pattern that is classic and fun. I went with a white chevron. Looks very tuxedo-y to me. I love the playful pattern with the classic lines. As always, hate to part with it but it is going on Saturday to The Market. Ignore the messy desk. The rains have brought me indoors to finish this up and I didn't think to put things away. If any one wants to pay that electric bill on the desk, call me!

More to The Market
Okay we are seriously selling like crazy at The Market! Which is awesome but we need to get busy!!
Here is a wonderful rolling server that I will be taking on Wednesday to the shop. It has two sides that raise and take this from 40" to over 69"! Wow, that's a lot of space for yummies!! Sorry about pics from the workroom, it will look even better at The Market :) Color is grey with silver highlights and stencil. So pretty!
